Client preparation checklist for JCWExteriors LLC soft wash and exterior cleaning appointments.
PLEASE COMPLETE BEFORE ARRIVAL: These steps help the crew work efficiently and reduce the risk of water intrusion, property damage, delays, and rescheduling fees. If anything on this checklist cannot be completed, notify JCWExteriors LLC as soon as possible before your appointment.
Access and Work Area
Unlock gates, side yards, garages, and other access points needed for the work.
Move vehicles away from the house, driveway, garage doors, and any surface being cleaned.
Clear furniture, grills, planters, flags, decorations, doormats, cushions, toys, tools, ladders, hoses, and equipment away from the house and work area.
Remove or protect fragile, sentimental, loose, custom, or high-value exterior items.
Make sure other contractors, landscapers, deliveries, and visitors will not be working in the same area during the service.
Windows, Doors, and Water Intrusion Prevention
Close and latch all windows, storm windows, doors, storm doors, garage doors, skylights, pet doors, and basement access points.
Check that window locks, door seals, weatherstripping, caulk, thresholds, and known leak areas are reasonably secure.
Move interior items away from windows or doors that have leaked before.
Tell JCWExteriors LLC before service about any known leaks, failed seals, loose siding, damaged caulk, wood rot, or areas that should not be exposed to water.
Water, Power, and Utilities
Provide access to an active exterior water faucet with running water and adequate pressure.
Make sure the faucet is turned on and not blocked by stored items, locked covers, frozen lines, or broken handles.
Notify JCWExteriors LLC if the property uses well water, has low pressure, has water restrictions, or has a faucet that leaks or shuts off unexpectedly.
Provide access to active exterior electrical connections.
Confirm that exterior outlets, covers, lighting, and fixtures are weatherproof and in good working condition.
Pets, People, and Safety
Secure pets indoors or away from the work area for the entire service window.
Remove pet waste from the lawn, walkways, beds, and all areas where technicians may walk or place hoses.
Keep children, guests, tenants, and household members away from the work area while the crew is operating.
Tell household members that exterior water, hoses, cleaning solution, and wet walking surfaces may be present.
Plants, Landscaping, and Nearby Property
Move potted plants, hanging baskets, herbs, and delicate plants away from the cleaning area when practical.
Water sensitive plants before and after the service if recommended for the season and plant type.
Identify delicate landscaping, newly planted areas, garden beds, pond features, or surfaces that need special care.
Notify neighbors, tenants, or residents if overspray, shared access, parked vehicles, open windows, or shared driveways may be affected.
Surface Conditions to Disclose
Inform JCWExteriors LLC about failing paint, oxidation, loose siding, damaged shutters, brittle screens, cracked concrete, spalling, loose mortar, damaged trim, prior repairs, newly painted or stained surfaces, or custom finishes.
Identify areas with rust, oil, artillery fungus, efflorescence, irrigation staining, sap, paint splatter, or other stains that you would like the crew to focus efforts.
Point out any fixtures, cameras, doorbells, keypads, outlets, lights, signs, awnings, or decorative pieces that are loose, non-weatherproof, or sensitive.
Scheduling and Rescheduling
Review your appointment date and arrival window.
Give timely notice if you need to reschedule. Unless JCWExteriors LLC agrees otherwise, provide at least 48 hours' notice.
Watch for weather-related updates. Wind, lightning, freezing conditions, heavy rain, excessive heat, or unsafe site conditions may require a new service date.
If site preparation is incomplete when the crew arrives, the appointment may need to be rescheduled and a trip, labor, cancellation, or rescheduling fee may apply under the service agreement.
